How it Works
What: Personal Chef Service, Healthy Meal Plans and/or In-Home Cooking Classes
Lovin' The Oven is a personal chef service offering healthy meal planning, diet planning and in-home cooking classes for busy families. Our mission is to provide delicious home cooked meals in a convenient way which allows you to eat fresh and healthy prepared meals.
Lovin’ the Oven’s most popular service is our three and four dinner meal plans. The menus are customized for your likes/dislikes and taste preferences. We do the grocery shopping for you and, if you prefer, we can bring our own pots and pans. Your refrigerator will be full of food and your kitchen will be clean when we’ve completed our cook day. Clients hire us weekly, biweekly and, for many, once a month just to stock their freezer or give them a break!
Our in-home cooking classes take place where you are going to learn the best, your kitchen! All classes are 100% customized for what you would like to learn. You can improve your cooking skills, get some friends together for a fun class, or learn how to cook for a specialty diet. All options are customized to the individual but there are a few courses including our new mom classes and our meal planning course listed on our services page.
Please Note: Lovin’ the Oven can cook for most dietary restrictions including dairy free, egg free, paleo, gluten free, low cholesterol, low sodium, diabetes, and renal diet. If your doctor has given you instructions on what to eat, please let us know. We also have experience with preparing meals in a kosher kitchen. Whether you are a vegan, vegetarian, or you would like to lose weight through eating healthy, portioned meals at home, we can work together to find delicious meal options within your guidelines.
Angela Whitford-Downing, Owner and Founder
As the owner of Lovin’ the Oven, Angela knows that a personal chef service isn’t just about creating delicious meals. Integrity, consistency, customer service and satisfaction are as important to her as being a great cook! Angela’s specialty is practical recipes that can easily be recreated by her clients. Her favorite recipes are delicious, mostly healthy, and very easy.
Her passion is for taking recipes and making them a little healthier without sacrificing taste. Chef Angela says, “I would describe it this way. I’m not trying to recreate the beef wellington with duck pate and cheddar mashed potatoes with firm tofu. I’m offering you salmon wellington with ---- and pesto roasted vegetables instead. And wait until you try my veggie lasagna!” She will be the first to tell you she isn’t a food snob and wants to help families eat healthier instead of relying on take out or prepackaged, high sodium foods.
Angela’s husband and three-year old daughter are happy to be part of testing her new recipes!
